Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

If your child’s disability is present at an early age, your health care team may recommend speech therapy as part of your child’s early intervention plan. There are also speech and language developmental milestones that you can monitor to make sure your child is on track and talk to your doctor if you suspect any problems. An initial phone consultation will allow us to further determine whether or not formal speech therapy is warranted.

How long will my child need speech therapy?

The length of therapy depends on the severity of the problem and the rate of progress made in the therapy sessions and during reinforcement at home and in the community.

Good Faith Estimate

As of January 1, 2022 The No Surprises Act requires providers to inform their uninsured and private pay patients that they have a right to a “Good Faith Estimate” to help them estimate the expected charges they may be billed.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers can provide patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including speech therapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including speech therapy services. Please let us know if you would like one!

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
