Meet the SLP - Bailey Travis, M.S., CCC-SLP

Meet the SLP

This week on the blog…

early intervention - DFW speech therapy - feeding therapy - speech therapy - language - autism - orofacial myofunctional therapy - apraxia - private practice

Excited is an understatement! We are thrilled to welcome Speech Language Pathologist, Bailey Travis, M.S. CCC-SLP (and sister of Jacey Bullock, M.S., CCC-SLP) to KLC Pediatric Therapy full-time! Bailey is highly skilled in early intervention, and pediatric speech and language disorders. She will be serving families in the Aledo clinic as well as families in the the Dallas, Richardson, Rockwall areas. We can’t wait for you to get to know her!

Tell us a little about you and your journey in becoming a SLP - where are you from, where did you go to school, what are your degrees in?

I am from Dallas, Texas and received my undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After graduation I moved back to Dallas and began working as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in Mesquite ISD. I then attended graduate school at Texas Woman's University, where I received my Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology. I worked for Mesquite ISD for about 8 years until I decided to make the switch to KLC Pediatric Therapy. I am passionate about my career and love getting to aid the development of communication for my kiddos.

Who in your life do you most look up to? Why?

I most look up to my sister Jacey (owner of KLC pediatric therapy). I have always looked up to her, even when we were little. I wanted to do everything she did.  Jacey is passionate, driven, kind and a great friend to everyone around her. Everyone needs someone like Jacey in their life!

What’s your favorite place to go out to eat in DFW?

A few of my favorite places to eat in DFW are Mi Cocina, Mister 01, and Joe T Garcia's for a fun night in Fort Worth. If I am eating fast food, I love Chick-Fil-A or Original Chop Shop, and Cava.

What do you like to do in your free time?

A few things I love doing in my free time are reading, taking workout classes, and trying new restaurants with my fiance.

Tell us a little about your family.

I am engaged to my best friend, Jared, and we are getting married in Dallas in December! My mom and dad live in the Dallas area and I have one older sister (Jacey) who lives in Aledo, TX with her husband and 3 kiddos. My family loves going to beach in the summer or just hanging out by the pool together.

Are you more introverted, extroverted, or a mixture of both?

I am definitely more of an introverted person. I can be very shy when first getting to know someone, but eventually open up and talk non-stop.

What is one thing you would like families to know about you?

One thing I would like families to know about me is that I am very passionate about my job. I have been an SLP for almost a decade and it is the best job! My faith is a huge part of my “why” and getting to share that and love on so many kiddos has been amazing. I have been able to meet and work with so many kiddos and families and it is the best part of my job!
