Meet the SLP - Delaney Barnett, M.S., CCC-SLP

Meet the SLP

This week on the blog…

We are so excited to welcome Speech Language Pathologist, Delaney Barnett, M.S. CCC-SLP to KLC Pediatric Therapy! Delaney will be in the East Dallas and Rockwall clinics serving the families in Sunnyvale, Mesquite, Forney, Rowlett, Rockwall, Heath, and surrounding areas. We are honored to have her on our team and we can't wait for you to meet her!

Tell us a little about you and your journey in becoming a SLP - where are you from, where did you go to school, what are your degrees in?

I am from Salt Lake City, UT, but grew up coming to Texas to go to summer camp and spend time with my extended family. I went to Texas Christian University for undergrad, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders, then attended the University of Texas at Dallas, where I received my Masters in Speech-Language Pathology.

Who in your life do you most look up to? Why?

My mom is a role model for me because of her dedication to my family. I had the best childhood and I hope to give that to my kids one day!

What’s your favorite place to go out to eat in DFW?

Naminohana or Las Palmas

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to play pickleball or read a page turning historical fiction book.

Tell us a little about your family.

I am the youngest of 3, with 2 older brothers who definitely instilled some character in me. My parents and one brother still live in Utah, while my oldest brother lives in Dallas as well. I do not yet have children of my own, but I hope to in the future!

Are you more introverted, extroverted, or a mixture of both?

I think I am an extroverted introvert. As an SLP, I am most definitely extroverted during the day with my kiddos, but I love to recharge at home with an early bed time and a book.

What is one thing you would like families to know about you?

I want families to know that I want to build a team with you to support your child. There is no such thing as too many questions, and the more involved you are in therapy, the better!
