Tell us a little about you and your journey in becoming a diagnostician - where are you from, where did you go to school, what are your degrees in?

I grew up in the Crandall/Kaufman area, and graduated from Crandall High School. I went to Stephen F. Austin State University, and completed my bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Special Eudcation in 3 years. I immediately started my masters in Special Education as an Educational Diagnostician, and graduated in 2017. In 2021, I started a masters extention program from Stephen F. Austin, and obtained additional certiciation, and masters hours in educational administartion. I am a certified Special Education Teacher (EC-12), General Education Teacher (EC-6), Educational Diagnostician (EC-12), Principal as an Instrcutional Leader. I taught 3 years in Special Education, and have been a Diagnostician for 7 years. I have evaluated children as young as 2 years 9 months all the way to adults. I have also been a campus based diagnostician from early childhood to high school. I am also a registered professional education diagnostician, and working on my national certification.

Who in life do you look up to most? Why?

My mom of course! She has been very important in my educational journey. She provided a positive role model for my sister and I as a working involved parent. She is a diagnostician as well, and if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have chosen the path I did!

What’s your favorite place to go out to eat in DFW?

Press Cafe, Rise, Cava, or any place with good Mexican food!

What do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy running, pilates, shopping, being with my boys, and decorating.

Tell us a little about your family.

I've been married to my husband Alan for almost 10 years, and we have 2 little boys, Austin (5), and Ashton (3). Austin is a kindergarten in Aledo ISD, and is looking forward to 1st grade! Ashton attends a local daycare in Aledo, and is always looking for ways to be more like his big brother! I am truly blessed with the sweetest boys!

Are you more introverted, extroverted, or a mixture of both?

I would say extroverted. I haven't met a stranger yet!

What is one thing you would like families to know about you?

I love building relationships with families, and helping parents become advocates for their children.
